A good discussion about algorithms – benefits and applicability of impact assessment
We would like to invite you for the third community meeting of the programme Responsible Innovation. Designing for Public Values in a Digital World.
Wednesday, 9 June 2021 from 15:00 to 17:00 hours
In this meeting, the focus will be on the “IAMA” - Impact Assessment Human Rights Algorithms. These are currently being developed by the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations in collaboration with researchers from Utrecht University. This instrument will be tested in several case studies during the spring of 2021.
It is expected that the IAMA will help to assess unintended side effects of the use of algorithms in relation to public values and human rights. IAMA is intended as a way to engage in a worthwhile discussion about how algorithms work.
After an introduction by Jeroen van den Hoven (Professor of Ethics and Technology at TU Delft), IAMA will be explained in more detail by people with hands-on experience: Marc Gerhard, project leader IAMA at the Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations and Iris Muis, co-developer of IAMA (project manager and lead Data Ethics at Utrecht University).
You can register for this event by sending an email to email@example.com.
