The NWO Platform voor maatschappelijk verantwoord innoveren provides space for sharing knowledge and for making the research results of NWO-MVI projects accessible and applicable. The platform focuses on strengthening the NWO-MVI network of scientists, businesses, public authorities and civil society. Developing knowledge through research programming and funding is the main purpose of the platform.
The NWO-MVI research programme was set up in 2008. In 2017, more than sixty projects focusing on research into the ethical and societal aspects of technological innovations were launched. This involves both short-term and long-term research projects. From 2012, all projects are carried out as public-private partnerships in the disciplines of the Top Sectors.
Responsible Innovation is gaining further traction in new initiatives and programmes. Thanks to the experience and expertise acquired and the networks that have been developed, NWO-MVI can inspire new initiatives in the area of research into responsible innovation and contribute to further development of responsible innovation.
Sharing knowledge and strengthening the network
The platform revolves around the scientific research funded by NWO-MVI and provides space for sharing knowledge and for making the research results accessible and applicable. In addition, the platform is aimed at strengthening the NWO-MVI network of scientists, businesses, public authorities and civil society organisations. All these groups can act as a partner in NWO-MVI research and use the platform for information, inspiration and establishing contacts.
